Look out for our setup email

You will receive an email for each type of device you are subscribing for. If you have a range of windows and android devices then you will just receive one email to setup windows computers and one email to setup the android device.

The emails will include instructions for setting up the device and QR codes and/or web links that take you directly to downloads or enrollment pages.

If your children are on Microsoft platforms, if you haven’t already done so we suggest you setup a Microsoft Family and explore Microsoft Family Safety. This will be a key tool for additional monitoring and control on Windows devices and the Edge browser in particular that we enforce across devices.

Key Steps before you begin

Windows, MacOS and Linux:

  1. Review your user accounts on the computer and make sure only an adult/parent has administrator access. Children’s accounts or accounts in general should be just setup as normal users (not administrators)
  2. Double check the administrator account on the computer is correct and you can login to it. On windows devices this may be a linked ‘Microsoft Account’ rather than a local account only on the computer. Using a ‘Microsoft Account’ is ideal and preferred.

Android Devices:

  1. Take note: Family Link will not function. You can manage and control web browsing via Microsoft Family Safety but otherwise app control will be managed by us.
  2. Factory Reset the device. This will remove all data, apps, logins etc. You will need to configure the phone for the primary user once enrolled.
